Just in time for Halloween, Izzy Spears has come out with a modern-day Gothic classic.

Halloween is just around the corner and now is the time for turning the lights down low, popping on a Horror flick and getting into the spirit of spooky season. Gothic and emo music are also an integral part of getting into the Halloween mood. Genre-defying artist Izzy Spears’s perfectly timed new release “EVERYTHING CHANGED” feels like a lost track from the soundtrack of The Crow (The 1994 original of course) with its brooding Emo-influenced soundscape. The track forms part of his most ambitious work to date, the EP “BLOOD SWEAT AND DAMNATION“. A distorted lead guitar riff, grungy bass guitar, and pulsating drum pattern characterise the track’s moody production. Izzy Spears’s Lo-Fi brooding baritone vocals feel almost like a mesh of Robert Smith with the vocal effects of Paris Texas. The blend of 80’s gothic sounds with modern-day Alternative sensibilities leads to a daringly different take on Indie Rock.

BLOOD, SWEAT AND DAMNATION” showcases Spears’ fearless approach to music-making, blending elements of punk, electronic, and grunge to create a sound that is uniquely his own. Whilst I am focusing on “EVERYTHING CHANGED” today, I’d strongly recommend giving the rest of the project a listen. To celebrate the release, Spears recently hosted a pre-release party at the Moroccan Lounge in LA on September 19th, in collaboration with British-Nigerian designer Mowalola. The event offered fans an exclusive preview of the EP and showcased Spears’ growing influence in both the music and fashion worlds. “EVERYTHING CHANGED” and the rest of “BLOOD, SWEAT AND DAMNATION” marks a groundbreaking artist truly announcing himself as someone who will have significant impact on the Alternative Rock scene. The EP is available now on all major streaming platforms via GODMODE
