ElyOtto’s Latest Track Green Apple Paste is a Hyperpop Banger for the Ages

Today ElyOtto, the Canadian Hyperpop singer, producer, and trans artist, released his latest single, “Green Apple Paste“. It’s a high-energy track with a beautifully chaotic sound somewhat reminiscent of 100 gecs. As a fan of the genre, this track hit all the right sonic niches for me and has been stuck in my head since I first heard it.

He blew up with his 2020 TikTok sensation and all-around hit “SugarCrash“, which received a remix from Kim Petras and Curtis Waters. The song, along with his 2022 debut album HELLSCAPE SUBURBIA, released on RCA Records, helped establish him as a prominent figure in the Hyperpop genre.

He has been described as “the new face of Hyperpop” by SPIN. His music has caught fire online, and his catchy tunes have stayed in the minds of listeners, including myself, for weeks.

“Green Apple Paste” immediately sets the mood, with a perfect balance between clean pop-friendly sounds and a gritty, outlandish nature.  The song is a perfect showcase of ElyOtto’s talent for creating infectious and memorable hooks that stay with you long after the track is over.

ElyOtto draws inspiration from artists like Dorian Electra, 100 gecs, and Kid Trash, creating songs as thought experiments that build on each other, teaching him something new about the genre and his music career with every track.

“Green Apple Paste” is an excellent showcase of his talent for creating infectious and memorable hooks that stay with you long after the track is over. With the success of his previous work, fans can expect more exciting music from this rising star in the Hyperpop scene.
