Dear Dea moves on with the poignant and soulful “Call Up My Phone”.

There are few things as tough as the end of a relationship. The pain of realising that someone you have felt so much love towards and held so dear no longer has a place in your life is one of the hardest feelings to experience. Finnish songstress Dear Dea‘s soulful new track “Call Up My Phone” poignantly explores the difficulty of realising that the long-distance relationship had become unhealthy and needed to come to an end. The alternative R&B soundscape of the track is characterised by gentle keys, a steadily driving drum pattern, and airy synths. The minimalistic production provides the space for Dea’s rich and soulful vocals to take centre stage as she poignantly mourns and then accepts the end of a relationship.

“Call Up My Phone” is the latest single from Dear Dea’s upcoming EP “When You Go Home” again. “When You Go Home Again” is a cathartic journey through letting go, acceptance, and moving on, exploring what it is tocall somewhere home. Having spent nearly a decade living in New York, in 2019 Dea had her artist visa denied and was given six days to leave the country. She returned to Finland, to her childhood bedroom for the first time since she was 19. Devastated and heartbroken, unable to visit the city she loved and in turmoil over her now crumbling relationship, Dea found inspiration to write for the first time since before putting together her visa application. The ep promises to be a triumphant and touching project that sees her overcoming these tribulations. Go stream “Call Up My Phone” on your platform of choice.
