Crate Classics team up with Omar+ in mesmerising RnB/Jungle fusion on new release “Westside”.
Jungle powerhouses Crate Classics have teamed up with rising London singer-songwriter Omar+ on their vibrant new single “Westside” which perfectly fuses RnB and Jungle sounds. The track is the first single from their highly anticipated upcoming album “Green Lanes”. The production is led by an atmospheric lead synth line, a nostalgic Jungle drum pattern and a deliciously smooth bassline. Omar+’s laidback, silky vocals float magically over the production with his mesmerizing having me hooked from the get-go.
This track perfectly blends Old-school Jungle production with slick modern R&B vocals to create a truly distinctive sound. Crate Classics is a UK production duo whose production credits include co-producing Doja Cat’s Grammy-nominated hit single “Woman” which has more than 1.5 Million streams on Spotify and reached number one on Billboard’s US Mainstream Top 40 Chart as well as Billboard’s US Rhythmic Chart. They have also been involved in previous number 1 successes such as Sam and The Womp’s “Bom Bom“.
Omar+ is an up-and-coming artist from North-West London, who at only 21 is creating a unique sound in the UK music scene, blending Dance, R&B, Rap, and Pop to set himself apart from his contemporaries. A self-producing artist, he has the freedom to shape his music in any direction. His rise to fame began with viral TikToks, especially around his hit single “Lights” which he performed on Balamii. A key member of the “NEVRRATED” crew, Omar+ and his group made a mark at Wireless this year. With his tracks becoming party playlist essentials, his journey as a rising star has only just begun.
“Westside” is a track that I have already found myself coming back to time and time again due to its captivating production and Omar+’s incredible vocal performance. Crate Classics has done a perfect job of creating the perfect beat for Omar+ to shine on in a perfect example of the power of musical collaboration. I will certainly be delving into both of their discography as they have truly captivated me with their latest offering. If you enjoy Jungle and Drum & Bass acts like Channell, Saikon, and Potential Badboy and/or RnB and Alternative artists like PARTYNEXTDOOR, Riovaz, and Brent Faiyaz then this track is definitely one you’ll love.
