Be still my beating heart… The month of Romance hasn’t even begun yet but I am in-love. How could I have fallen so quickly? Well with a well-placed shot to the ‘ol pulmonary engine in the form of the brand new Coasters banger ‘U Wanna?‘.

It’s bold, it’s beautiful, it’s like high noon outside the saloon with two gunslingers, armed with a guitar line that’ll hook you and dreamy vocals that’ll have you pushing flowers and happy about it.

Since dropping their debut EP Heartbreak Looks Good On You in 2023, our beautiful darling Coasters have been riding the waves of growth and creative exploration. They’ve shared stages with some of the greats – Bongeziwe Mabandla, Jeremy Loops, Desmond and The Tutus, Yellow House, and Acid Tongue – all while building a loyal fan base. Their journey even took them to the EU for a whirlwind tour through Germany and The Netherlands, where they connected with old friends and made plenty of new ones.

When Luke first played Kata the distinct, psych-rock guitar riff, there was an immediate inspiration to write a song that follows the story of a cowboy-draw. The story of ‘the draw’ in combination with the powerful instrumentals and vocals, align to create a sense of tension and momentum that builds throughout the song. A solid bassline, dirty guitar riff and church worthy organ, culminate in a catchy instrumental meal, topped with Kata’s belting vocals.

But what makes Feb even better than most of the boring months of the year? You frikkin’ guessed it. Valentines Day! Well our Coasters of love drop a music video for the song on the 14th of February. ‘U Wanna?’ will also be the first of three singles to be released in the next two and a half months! After which, the band will hole up in their studio to work on their debut album.
