Babydoll is a heartfelt ode to the intoxicating highs and lows of a toxic romance through the lens of a biblical allegory

The first track on Ari Abdul’s debut album “Fallen Angel”, the Pop-Noir banger “Babydoll”, had us hooked from the first listen. Ari only began making music in 2021 but she has quickly developed a massive following and her star is quickly rising. In her short career, the 20-year-old singer-songwriter has already amassed over 75 million streams of her music.

Growing up in Brooklyn, Ari was introduced to a diverse range of musical influences from a young age. Her Palestinian/Costa-Rican father shared his love for Classic Rock with her and her Ecuadorian mother introduced her to Latin Music. She was also exposed to Hip-Hop and Metal through her brothers. She has used her varied music taste to find a unique niche in a pop scene lacking originality, filled with safe, radio-friendly music dominating the Billboard charts.

“Babydoll” is a dark yet beautiful track, with melodic synths and catchy guitar riffs that are complimented perfectly by Ari’s hauntingly alluring vocals. There is a clear Grunge influence likely inspired by her love of Nirvana’s music while growing up. There are also shades of Lana Del Rey in her dark Pop sound and themes of Femme Fatales and turbulent, passionate love affairs. “Babydoll”  became a viral hit when a sped up version began trending on TikTok. Her savvy use of social media is yet another reason why Ari Abdul is such an exciting Pop prospect.

Keep an eye out for Ari as she has all the tools to become a tour de force in the Pop Charts. We can’t wait to see what she has to offer next and are sure she will continue to grow and excite as a unique musical talent.
