Alt-Rock Pop Star Zoe Ko releases “EAT”, an embrace of 2024’s confidence boom!
If Pop-influenced Alt-Rock is your thing, don’t miss out on “EAT”, New York’s upcoming star, Zoe Ko’s second release of the year. Taking us on a power-packed Alt-Rock experience that is the theme music for city girls around the world, the production sports addictive electric guitar riffs with electric flairs that allow her charismatic voice to shine. “EAT” perfectly encapsulates what has made Zoe a musical force to be reckoned with – fierce energy, flirtatious charm, and a desire to authentically highlight the female experience. As a fan of the soundscapes among the likes of early Arctic Monkeys and the nightlife energy of Kesha, this is one for the playlists.
Zoe’s music resonates with today’s craving for authenticity and empowerment. Raised in New York City, you can tell Zoe is the ultimate city girl by her thrifted style and confident attitude. Driven by electric guitar and powerful, bold vocals, Zoe’s music screams with the spirit of a new era while paying homage to the iconic sounds of the past. At only 23 years old, you’ve only seen the beginning of Zoe Ko. Last November, she released her EP Baby Teeth, which featured a succession of acclaimed singles like “Rib Cage,” “Petri Dish” and “Pink Noise.”
I wanted to write a song about going out, getting crazy, and dancing all night. I hope this song ends up on every hot girl dance playlist out there.”
“I wrote this song with [producer and co-writer Jonny Shorr] right after I moved to Los Angeles from New York City,” shares Zoe. “It was a culture shock, to say the least. I missed my best friends and our crazy nights out, and the shameless confidence the city infused into me. My friends and I would always use some variation of the word ‘eat’ as slang. Like after a wild girls’ night out we might say, ‘We totally ate tonight!” Zoe explains. “EAT” is a song about exactly that: going out and dancing through the dead of night to the early hours of the morning.
“2024 is the year of serving, giving, and working,” adds Zoe. “But not in the w-o-r-k way and more the w-e-r-k way, the hot way. Like when a baddie walks by you on the street and your jaw drops kind of way. Confidence is in. Strutting is in. Being the hottest most powerful bad-ass version of yourself is in. Not giving a single f*ck about what others think is in. EATING is in.” Go ahead and give “EAT/DIRT” a listen, the nightlife scene awaits.
